Iowa State University is notorious for its incredibly rigorous design program. It is specifically infamous for the Core Program; a year-long program which all first-year design students must complete before they officially declare what field of design they wish to major in. As a former design student myself, I knew first hand the struggles that came with being a victim of the Core Program; so during finals week of Fall 2018, I decided to document the aforementioned struggles through the eyes of then ISU freshman Michael Brown. This was the final project for my JL MC 310 Photojournalism class. It is a photo story accompanied by recorded audio of the subject, Michael Brown.
